Firmware Upgrade Instructions (version 2042)

Purpose of upgrade:

This firmware upgrade contains the following modifications.

  • Fixed Taiwan's area codes.

This firmware upgrade also contains the following modification from the past upgrade (version 2018/ 2038/ 2041).

  • Date and time setting screen will not appear at start up anymore.
  • When calling a number in the US using SkypeOut, the US Area code will be added automatically.
  • Handset volume is increased to minimize difficulties of hearing voice.
  • Wireless network support (allows connecting with the S0-10 WiFi Network Adapter).
  • SkypeIn calls are now displayed in call history.

What you need:

  • S0-10
  • USB flash drive (please avoid using memory card with adapter or external hard disk)
  • Firmware upgrade file package downloadable from this link

Upgrade procedure:

  1. Unzip the firmware upgrade file package into the root directory of your USB flash drive. You will need both of these two files.
    • upgrade_info (Upgrade version information)
    • skype-1.4.152.2042-EUS1 (Upgrade file)
  2. Connect your USB flash drive to the USB port at the back of your S0-10 (disconnect the WiFi Network Adapter if it is connected).
  3. From the S0-10 main menu, choose Settings > General > Software updates.
  4. The following message will appear on S0-10 screen. Select "YES".
  5. The program will start upgrading the firmware.
    DO NOT disconnect the USB flash drive or shut down your S0-10 until the procedure is completed, which will take 5 to 10 minutes.
  6. When it is completed, the screen below will appear. Select "OK" to restart your S0-10.
